15/03/2011: ICTSI takes over port operations in Portland

Philippine-owned International Container Terminal Services, Inc (ICTSI) held an Open House on March 9 to celebrate the start of its operations of the Port of Portland's Terminal 6.

Consul General Marciano A. Paynor, Jr. congratulated ICTSI Chairman Mr. Enrique Razon on this latest venture.  “ICTSI is a world-class Filipino company and I’m proud to be here to mark this momentous occasion for ICTSI and the city of Portland,” Consul General Paynor said. 

In May 2010, ICTSI signed a 25-year lease with the Port of Portland for the operation of the container/ breakbulk facility at Terminal 6.  The Port of Portland is ICTSI's first venture in the US and said to be the largest financial transaction in the history of the city's maritime port.  Terminal 6 is a 78-hectare facility at the Port's Rivergate Industrial District.

ICTSI is in the business of acquiring, developing, managing and operating container ports and terminals worldwide.  ICTSI operates around 20 ports in Brazil, Poland, Japan, Madagascar, Indonesia, Syria, China, Ecuador, Georgia, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Brunei Darussalam and the US.
