Visit the ABS-CBN International Office on May 5 and register for Overseas Absentee Voting.

When TFC’s daily news show, “Balitang America,” kicks off its 10th anniversary observance together with ABS-CBN Foundation Inc. by launching May as Public Service Month, it will hold hands with the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco for the first of its weekly Public Service Fairs.  This partnership will include the registration for overseas absentee voters (OAV) which will be conducted at the ABS-CBN International office on May 5, 2012, from 1pm to 4pm at 150 Shoreline Drive, Redwood City.  Visit http://www.balitangamerica.tv/redwood-city-ba-event/ to set an appointment.

Filipino citizens or dual citizens, of at least 18 years of age, are encouraged to register as overseas absentee voters so that they may also exercise their constitutionally protected right of suffrage.  To register, bring a copy of the latest Philippine Passport for Filipino citizens, or Oath of Allegiance or Identification Certificate for dual citizens.

Consul General Marciano A. Paynor, Jr. thanked ABS-CBN International for this joint activity.  “It is important that we remind Kababayans at every opportunity to take part in shaping the future of our country.   Registering for OAV will give them the capability to exercise their right to vote and help chart the political future of the Philippines,” Consul General Paynor remarked.
