The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco started the full implementation of the e-passport system on 17 May 2010 following substantive preparations including intensive training of consulate personnel, reconfiguration of the consular waiting area and importation of new computers, digital cameras and other e-passport equipment from Manila.

The new Philippine e-passport represents the latest technology in travel documents with new and better security aspects that include an integrated chip containing the passport holder’s photo and other identification features. END
