The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco conducted today an Overseas Absentee (OAV) Registration campaign aboard the Zuiderdam cruise ship of Holland America Line.
Forty-five (45) Filipino crew members successfully registered during the vessel’s temporary berthing at the San Francisco Cruise Terminal. The Philippine Consulate Team was welcomed by Mr. Myles Williams, HR Manager of the Zuiderdam.
Consul General Marciano A. Paynor, Jr. thanked the management of Holland America Line for making this possible. “It is important that we give every opportunity to our Kababayans to take part in shaping the future of our country. Registering for OAV will give them the capability to exercise their right to vote and help chart the political future of the Philippines,” Consul General Paynor remarked.
Those who wish to register as an Overseas Absentee Voter may still do so until October 31, 2012 at the Philippine Consulate General or during the upcoming Consular on Wheels outreach missions. Bring a copy of the latest Philippine Passport for Filipino citizens, or Oath of Allegiance or Identification Certificate for dual citizens.
