SF PCG   CONDUCTS CONSULAR OUTREACH MISSIONS IN  COLORADO

From October 12-15, 2012 the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco (SF PCG)  conducted Consular Missions in Colorado Springs and Denver, Colorado

The Consular Outreach Missions  in  Colorado Springs and Denver are the 5th and the 7th respectively,  of  consecutive annual  consular outreach missions conducted in those cities.  The Filipino American Community of Southern Colorado (FACSC)  hosted the outreach mission in Colorado Springs  and the Filipino American Community of Colorado (FACC)  hosted the mission in Denver.  The Region 5 chapter of the  National Federation of Filipino American Associations (NaFFAA) co-sponsored both missions.

The outreach missions to Colorado Springs and Denver Colorado are the 27th and 28th of the confirmed 33 consular outreach missions of the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco for the year  2012.

The conduct of the outreach missions  such as these in Colorado is core to the advocacy of the Consulate General to reach out to its constituents and extend consular services  under its’ 10-state jurisdiction, that includes Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Northern California, Northern Nevada,  Montana, Utah, Washington, Wyoming and Colorado.   Notably, applicants came not only from Colorado  but also from other states such as Wyoming, New Mexico, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska.

Latest US Census figures (2010)  lists Colorado as one of the states under the Consulate General’s  jurisdiction which registered  one of the highest growth rates  in the number of Filipinos - from  8,941 in 2000  to 14,448 in 2010 – an increase  of  62%.

“The support and cooperation of the Filipino American communities and organizations is vital to the  realization and success of our consular outreach missions .    I extend once more our deep appreciation to our community members and organizations such as FACSC, the FACC, NaFFAA Region 5  in Colorado,  for  their spirit of volunteerism, their dedication to assist the community,   as well as their efforts to further their   valued  partnership with the Consulate General”  remarked Consul General Marciano A. Paynor, Jr.  END
