PH CONSULATE GENERAL IN SF PARTNERS WITH LUCKY GROUP OF COMPANIES TO PROMOTE OVERSEAS ABSENTEE VOTING REGISTRATION

Register for the upcoming PH elections at specified dates and locations and remit for FREE through Lucky Money for dollar-to-peso transactions!

The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco recently partnered with Lucky Group of Companies to promote Overseas Absentee Voter registration.  Registration will be held at 9am to 5pm at the following sites:

  • October 26, Friday:  Lucky Money (Branch Office), 66 San Pedro Road, Suite D, Daly City
  • October 29, Monday:  Lucky Money (Head Office),  1028 Mission Street, San Francisco
  • October 31, Wednesday:  Lucky Chances Casino, 1700 Hillside Blvd., Colma

As part of Lucky’s gratitude to Kababayans who exercised their civic duties, remittance fees will be waived for dollar to peso transactions, limited to one remittance per successful registrant.

Filipino citizens or dual citizens, of at least 18 years of age, are encouraged to register as overseas absentee voters so that they may also exercise their constitutionally protected right of suffrage.  To register, bring a copy of the latest Philippine Passport for Filipino citizens, or Oath of Allegiance or Identification Certificate for dual citizens.

Consul General Marciano A. Paynor, Jr. thanked the Lucky Group of Companies for this joint activity.  “It is important that we remind Kababayans at every opportunity to take part in shaping the future of our country.   Registering for OAV will give them the capability to exercise their right to vote and help chart the political future of the Philippines,” Consul General Paynor remarked.

Deadline of registration is on October 31, 2012.  Registrants in the previous registration periods may check if they are still in the voters list via http://www.comelec.gov.ph/oav/?r=tpl/find_registration_-_individual_search (Go to the COMELEC home page, click “OAV” link, then click “OAV Post Finder” at the left side of the page). For those who changed residence, they need to file a Transfer of Registration at the Consulate General so that ballots can be delivered to the correct address.
