Dear Kababayan and Friends,
This is it! Opening this Friday March 15 in San Francisco at the Kabuki Cinema , and continuing its successful run in 10 other major cities across America, DON’T STOP BELIEVIN’: EVERYMAN’S JOURNEYfollows the real life rock ‘n’ roll fairy tale of Filipino Arnel Pineda who was plucked from YouTube to become the front man for iconic American rock band Journey. In this Cinderella story for the ages, Arnel, having overcome a lifetime’s worth of hardships, must now navigate the immense pressures of replacing a legendary singer and leading a world-renowned band on their most extensive world tour in years.
This film transcends generations. On one hand, it's a music-filled documentary for the post-YouTube, post-American Idol generation. It is an aspirational, everyman’s rags-to-riches story set against the backdrop of some of the most anthemic songs of recent rock n’ roll history. This generation may not necessarily know the songs, but they know they’ve heard it somewhere before – at a ball game, as a soundtrack to a movie, TV show (i.e. Glee, The Sopranos) or a commercial, on their parents’ Ipod. On the other hand, it is for their elders – their mothers and fathers and aunts and uncles – whose memories dance with the songs of Journey.
The film features band members, lead singer Arnel Pineda and original Journey members Neal Schon, Jonathan Cain, Ross Valory & Deen Castronovo.
DON’T STOP BELIEVIN’: EVERYMAN’S JOURNEY was directed and written by Ramona S. Diaz, and produced by Josh Green, Capella Fahoome and Ramona Diaz.
