05/09/2013: COMMEMORATING LABOR RIGHTS WEEK: SF PCG AND US LABOR OFFICIALS CONDUCT PUBLIC BRIEFING/PRESENTATION

To commemorate US Labor Rights week, the Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco, in partnership with the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in San Francisco, and Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Region IX Office, organized a public briefing at the Consulate General on September 3, 2013.
Director Michael Baldonado, EEOC Head in San Francisco, and Ms. Barbara Yee Goto, OSHA Region IX Deputy Regional Administrator led other members of their respective agencies in conducting the briefing.
During the briefing, EEOC and OSHA officials briefed the consular public on the mission and programs of their respective agencies, and how they can help the members of the Filipino and Filipino American community, in protecting their rights as employers and employees Members of the public took the opportunity to raise some of their personal labor related issues during the open forum after the briefing. Both agencies also distributed information materials to the public.
The Consulate General will be working with the two agencies in reaching out and providing information and assistance to the Filipino and Filipino American community.
