11/08/2010: OLDEST PHILIPPINE DUAL CITIZEN APPLICANT

SAN FRANCISCO, 05 AUGUST 2010 - Philippine Consul General to San Francisco Marciano A. Paynor, Jr. (left) administered the oath of allegiance to Mr. Oscar Lolarga Miles, age 94, accompanied by his daughter Ms. Nilda Miles de Jesus and nephew Mr. Eric James Miles. Mr. Miles  became the oldest Filipino American in the Bay Area to apply for Dual Citizenship under Philippine Republic Act 9225. The law grants former natural-born Filipinos who have lost their Filipino citizenship through naturalization in a foreign county, the opportunity to retain or re-acquire their Filipino citizenship.
