18/09/2017: PH CONSUL GENERAL NAMED DEAN OF THE SAN FRANCISCO CONSULAR CORPS

14 September 2017 - Consul General Henry S. Bensurto, Jr. was affirmed and named Dean of the San Francisco Consular Corps at a ceremony held on 13 September 2017 at the historic Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco.

The San Francisco Consular Corps is a body of 78 Consulates, and represents one of the largest diplomatic communities in the United States.

The ceremony was attended by San Francisco Mayor Edward Lee; Ms. Charlotte Mailliard Schultz, Chief of Protocol for the State of California and the City and County of San Francisco; as well as heads of posts and representatives from Consulates in the Bay Area.

Consul General Bensurto’s term as Dean came into effect on 13 September 2017, and will conclude upon the end of his posting in San Francisco. END
