14/02/2019: Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Resolution No. 10499 - Guidelines for Accreditation of Filipino Community, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO)

The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco informs that the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has issued Resolution No. 10499 “Guidelines for Accreditation of Filipino Community, Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), or Civil Society Organization as Partners of the Commission on Elections in Connection with the Conduct of Overseas Voting under Republic Act No. 9189, otherwise Known as ‘The Overseas Absentee Voting Act of 2003’, as Amended by Republic Act No. 10590 for Purposes of the May 13, 2019 National and Local Elections.”

The Resolution provides that duly accredited Filipino Communities (FilComs), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), or Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) are recognized as partners of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in implementing the overseas voting.

Accordingly, interested parties may apply for accreditation with the Philippine Consulate General by submitting the following:

  1. A duly accomplished Accreditation Application Form, which may be downloaded from the COMELEC website at http://www.comelec.gov.ph;
  2. List of officers and members including their addresses and contact numbers; and
  3. Photocopies of valid IDs of officers and members.

Applications for accreditation shall be filed during office hours (9:00 am – 5:00 pm) from 15 February 2019 to 31 March 2019 at the Philippine Consulate General, 447 Sutter St, 6F, San Francisco, CA 94108. This period is non-extendible.
